Who we are

Marrga Ngoongie was started by Ashlie Rogers, a Djaru woman from the East Kimberleys in WA.

Ashlie has worked in community for the past 8 years in youth work, intensive family based support, OOHC case management, cultural support and mentoring. This is where she found her passion for supporting young people and families to stay connected.

Services

Family Group Conferencing (FGC)

FGC’s are held when a family has come into contact with child protection services. These conferences are to support the family to come up with a family plan that keeps the children safe and in the care of their family.

Cultural Support Plans (CSP)

CSP’s are developed to support children & young people in foster care, disability care and juvenile detention. They help their primary carers support and connect the young person to culture, family and community.

Family contact support

Contact support for children and young people having supervised time with their family. Supporting carers to take over from agency staff to facilitate family time and build rapport with the young persons family.

Family finding

Family finding is offered to support a child or young person in care who doesn’t have any contact with family and are looking for family to connect with. It is also to find family who are living on country so a child/young person can connect with their home country.

Mentoring
